Original Vintage 1940s French Workwear Trousers (F11)

A superb pair of vintage 1940s French chore pants.

Excellent quality and a rare smaller size, in heavy sanforised cotton.

Label reads, “Au Petit Marché, J. Ronchail, Chambéry- Chamoux’.

It also has the number, ‘117’ on a little label, as well as stitched in red and the previous owner’s name, ‘Anne- Marie Letron’.

This is unusual as most workwear would have been worn by male labourers.

Button fly, a high rise, thicker belt loops, hems were previously taken up a few millimetres, metal buttons typical of workwear from this era.

These trousers are in “worn in” condition with very gentle fade, wear etc...

At Bobby & Dandy, we feel that any fade, wear, darning and patching only adds to the character and appeal of vintage workwear.

I estimate that these trousers would best fit a Men’s XS/S or Women’s S approx UK8- 10 W28”, depending on required fit. But please look at the measurements below:

Waist (measured flat)- 14”

Outside Leg Length- 38.5”

Inside leg- 27.5”
