True Vintage 1940s Skirt Suit
 
A vintage original, handmade/ ‘make do and mend’ at the time.
Fashioned in blue gingham cotton, featuring attractive ric- rac detail.
Shirt tapers in elegantly at waist, features trimmed collar, slight puff sleeve, four button front, mock pockets at hip.
Skirt flares A line shape from natural waist and fastens at side with hook & eyes and buttons at hip.
 
This skirt suit was handmade at the time. It has some loose stitches and general wear. Skirt is quite naively made.

I estimate that this dress would best fit a Small size, approx UK8 or 10, depending on desired fit. NB. It is quite slim across hips. Please check measurements given:
